How priority affects task ordering, AI decomposition, and deadline time assignments.
Overview
Every task in Syncflow has a priority level: High, Medium, or Low. Priority is not just a label — it actively influences how your tasks are organized, decomposed, and scheduled.
Urgent work that needs immediate attention. These tasks appear first in your dashboard and flow. When a deadline is set, the time is assigned to the start of the day so you tackle it first thing.
Standard priority for most tasks. Sorted after high-priority items. Deadline time is assigned to midday.
Background or nice-to-have work. Sorted last. Deadline time is assigned to the end of the day, giving you flexibility.
How priority affects AI decomposition
When the AI decomposes your task, it considers the priority level to adjust its approach:
How priority affects ordering
Your dashboard and Focus Flow sort tasks by priority first, then by deadline. A high-priority task due next week will appear before a low-priority task due tomorrow. This ensures you always see the most important work first.
Changing priority
You can change a task's priority at any time from the task detail view or when editing the task. Changing priority will re-sort the task in your dashboard but will not re-trigger AI decomposition.
